I asked the Kurdistan Regional Government if these are legal tender coins and this is their answer:
"Currently, the Kurdistan Regional Government does not have an offically recognized coin collection. The currency used in our region is the same all over Iraq. I hope this answers your question."
So, officially, this is NOT a legal tender set.

ReplyDeleteI read in Joel's site that these coins were minted by the Kurdish exile government. However, I sent several messages to Kurdistan official sites asking about it but got no answer. As I consider them very attractive coins, I decided to post this note anyway.
