As of September 2012, this coin is not listed under "Current Legal Tender Coins" on Sudan's central bank web site. See: http://www.cbos.gov.sd/en/node/461. This is true for the English as well as the Arabic version of the home page. This does raise the question whether this is an official coin or it's just bogus aimed at the collector market.
... Then again, there is actually mention (as of 2011) of replacing the 1 pound bank note with a coin: "The one pound note, which came with changes to the currency after the signing of the CPA, will bereplaced with a coin.". That is one nice looking coin. When exactly this Sudan coin start circulating?
