The new design will replace Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's portrait and also introduce 2 Dollar as circulation coin. The tanoa on the Fiji 1 cent coin will feature on the reverse side of the new $2 coin.
The new notes and coins will be in circulation from June 2012.
Presently the 50 cent coin is the highest denomination coin in circulation. It needs to be seen if 1 Dollar coin is also introduced or not.
