While in 2003 item (KM24) the text was "BANKI NASIYONALI Y'U RWANDA", this 2009 item bears the text "BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA".

This new type is already catalogued as KM33.

It features Garuda Pancasila on the front. On the other side is the traditional bamboo musical instrument known locally as angklung, with Gedung Sate (Bandung, West Java) in the background.
The coin is silver in color and made from nickel plated steel.
